SeniorNet HBC Inc
Telephone 09 426 1509. (9.00 am to 3.00 pm, Monday to Friday, except Friday afternoons, mid-January to mid-December.)

Our Learning Centre is at 117 Centreway Road, Orewa.
Parking is available in the parking area in front of the house.

SeniorNet HBC Inc is an Incorporated Society and registered Charity. We are a member of the Federation of New Zealand SeniorNet Societies Incorporated. We are one of the 88 independent SeniorNet societies throughout New Zealand that are members of the Federation, with a total of approximately 17,000 members. Seniornet HBC Inc was set up in 1999 by a group of interested people following initiatives by Telecom, and since then has received sponsorship from the ASB Trusts, Rodney District Council, Rotary, Air New Zealand, and Rothmans Foundation through Ian Watt of the Stables Bar (Whangaparaoa Shopping Centre).
Seniornet HBC Inc enrols approximately 120 new members each year and had 620 members as at April 2010.

The following people help the work of the club without being on the committee:
The volunteers who staff the Help Centre.

The Committee meets in the Learning Centre usually on the Fridays of Week 4 and Week 8 of each term at 1.30 p.m.

Equipment:
The club fully owns the following equipment:
Twenty-five fast networked computers, with CD/DVD writers and full multi-media facilities. The software used is Windows 7 Ultimate and XP Pro, MS Works, OFFICE 2003 and 2007, Internet Explorer, Outlook Express, Publisher 2000 & later and Photoshop Elements and Premiere. The networked computers share a broadband connection.
Scanners.
Printers.
Two datashow projectors for demonstrations.
Large photocopier.
Digital Camera.

The tutors are financial members of the society and give their services free. Income from members is used to pay the rent of the premises, the cost of the telephone connection and purchases and on-going upgrading of equipment. All maintenance is provided at no labour cost by club members. Some government funding has been available.
